At the 2011 National Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, the following awards will be presented: chapter recognition, chapter
research projects, chapter service projects, chapter newsletter, Woodward Leadership, and National Leadership.
The DPE National Awards Program is designed to (a)
encourage greater participation among members in chapter activities and
projects and (2) to recognize excellence in achievement by individual members
and local chapters.
Chapter Recognition Award
The Chapter Recognition Award is designed to recognize outstanding chapters
which provide quality programs of leadership, scholarship, and professionalism
in all of their activities and projects.
Chapter Research Projects Award
The DPE Chapter Research Projects Awards is designed to encourage and recognize
chapter research projects completed by members of DPE chapters.
Chapter Service Projects Award
The DPE Chapter Service Projects Award is designed to encourage and recognize
chapter service projects completed by members of DPE chapters.
Chapter Newsletter Award
The DPE Chapter Newsletter Award is designed to recognize chapters which
provide outstanding communication with their members through the chapter
newsletter. The chapter newsletter is the primary vehicle for dissemination of
information from the national level and the chapter executive board to the
general membership.
Theodore Woodward Leadership Award
The Theodore Woodward Leadership Award is designed to recognize an individual
DPE member for outstanding leadership and service to the local chapter. The
recipient will have been judged to have contributed most to the effective
governance of the local chapter.
National Leadership Award
The National Leadership Award is designed to recognize an individual DPE member
for outstanding leadership and service to the organization. The recipient will
be judged to have contributed significantly to the national organization.
How to Apply
The official application forms and guidelines for each award program will be
mailed from the National Office during January, 2011, to each chapter president and
sponsor. Each guideline describes the award and states instructions, deadlines,
and procedures for submitting the application. (Additional copies may be
obtained from the DPE National Office.)
As stated in the instructions, applications for all the chapter awards should
be mailed to the Delta Pi Epsilon National Office; P.O. Box 4340; Little Rock,
AR 72214.
Terms of Eligibility
All data submitted in the chapter’s application must reflect activities,
programs, and projects completed during the two-year period January 1, 2009,
through December 31, 2010.
Application Deadline
All applications must be received at the DPE National Office by June 15, 2011.
