DPE Members Receive Awards

2007 Robert Greg Award:

Donna Redmann

Dr. Donna Redmann (Delta Beta Chapter, Louisiana State University) is professor in the School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development at Louisiana State University. With over 30 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Redmann is a recognized researcher and author. She has over 100 publications and $482,555 in grants and contracts. She has been active in numerous professional associations, including DPE, NBEA, NATEBE, and AVERA. She served as chair of the Policies Commission for Business and Economic Education in 2006-2007 and chaired the 2007 DPE National Conference. Dr. Redmann currently serves as sponsor of Delta Beta Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon.

2008 DPE Doctoral Research Award:

Joy Roach

Dr. Joy Roach, (National Chapter) was presented the 2008 Delta Pi Epsilon Doctoral Research Award.  Her research, “Factors Affecting Written Business Communication Creation and Productivity,” was conducted at Southern Illinois University Carbondale under the direction of Dr. Marcia Anderson.  Dr. Roach is an assistant professor of Office Systems and Business Administration at Murray State University.  

NBEA Secondary Teacher of the Year Award:

Ramona Schoenrock (Alpha Upsilon Chapter, University of Nebraska) is the recipient of the 2008 National Business Education Association Secondary Teacher of the Year Award. She is a teacher at Columbus High School, Columbus, Nebraska.

NBEA Collegiate Teacher of the Year Award:

Dr. Wayne Moore (Delta Beta Chapter) and (Gamma Chapter, Western Pennsylvania Chapter) is the recipient of the 2008 National Business Education Association Collegiate Teacher of the Year Award. He is a professor in the Technology Support and Training Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, Pennsylvania.

NBEA Distinguished Service Award for a State Supervisor of Business Education:

Judith Sams (Delta Lambda Chapter, The Virginia Chapter) is the recipient of 2008 National Business Education Association Distinguished Service Award for a State Supervisor of Business Education. She works in the Virginia Department of Education, Richmond, Virginia.

Delta Pi Epsilon is a national graduate honorary society for professionals who support and promote scholarship, leadership, and cooperation toward the advancement of education for and about business. Delta Pi Epsilon was established in 1936 at New York University and presently is made up of members affiliated with over 60 university and state-based chapters. Members advance quality education and refine pedagogy though research and instructional development activities.
